How we work
Portsmouth Atlantic Insurance has helped people protect their homes, cars and families since 2005. We're an independent agency, so we don't work for any one insurance company. We compare coverage from more than 30 carriers, then walk you through the differences in plain language so the policy you choose fits the home you actually own and the way you actually drive.
Our team of 15 works out of two offices, one at 601 Islington St, Unit 206, in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, and one in Stratford, Connecticut. We're licensed in 10 states: Connecticut, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Vermont, Maine, New York, Florida, Illinois and Ohio. That helps when you own a second home, have a child at school in another state, or are getting ready to move.
If you're closing on a house or a renewal has just gone up, tell us the date and we'll plan around it. For homes with more to protect, we work with carriers such as Chubb, Cincinnati, Hanover, Openly, National General and Andover. For flood, we can quote both the National Flood Insurance Program and private flood companies.

No. You can start with one policy, such as flood or an umbrella, and leave everything else where it is. Or you can move home and auto together because many carriers offer a package discount. We'll show you both ways and tell you plainly when keeping a policy where it is makes more sense for you.
